The friends of your friends are my friends. Courtney & Alex came to Bodas del Sur through a couple that chose us as Wedding Planners in 2016: Erik & Katherine. The challenge was huge since Katherine & Erik’s wedding was picked up by the international press (VOGUE), and we knew that Courtney & Alex had high expectations about Bodas del Sur as a Wedding Planner agency.
They wanted a well-organized wedding but the main ingredients were supposed to be fun and naturalness.
For the wedding they chose a 16th century Hacienda. We decorated this place for the gala ceremony, which was held in one of the most romantic gardens. Alex arrived at the altar on the back of a donkey to create a touch of humor that is inherent to his character. It was an emotional and delicate ceremony… The aperitifs were served in the interior patio of the house, a beautiful patio with arches and a stone floor. For the dinner they had chosen one of the other gardens full of orange trees and decorated with garlands to illuminate the tables. The guests were astonished by the decoration, by table centers shaped like mini-orange trees that integrated perfectly with the environment. For the open bar, they did not hold back and chose the main garden of the property, iron lounge furniture was set up as well as a fun Sevillian Photocall that turned out to be one of the main attractions during the wedding.
For our part, we must confess that we have had a lot of fun organizing this wedding. At all times working with Courtney & Alex has been like dealing with friends, and as we said at the beginning: friends of your friends, are my friends!
Something peculiar about this wedding is that they did not want post-wedding, but two Pre weddings! The idea was that the guests stay with the final taste of the wedding. The first one was a Flamenco Party on a terrace next to the Guadalquivir River, and the second a cocktail in an elegant restaurant in the center of Seville with subsequent long drink on a terrace overlooking the Cathedral. It was something different, but it worked, it was 2 different nights but just as intense and fun!
